Ferguson Votes to Protect Unborn Children

WASHINGTON D.C. –Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) today voted to pass H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. This legislation would prohibit abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, with exceptions in cases of rape, incest and threat to the health of the mother.
“Scientific evidence confirms the truth that life begins at conception,” said Ferguson. “Research has proven that unborn children can feel pain at just 20 weeks, so we must ensure our laws protect them. We must continue to fight to protect all children from conception, but this bill is a critical step in the right direction. I will always stand up for those who cannot defend themselves, and I was proud to do so today.”
The legislation passed by a vote of 237-189.
