ICYMI: Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Ferguson Tour Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia
Washington, DC,
October 29, 2018
Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) toured Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia yesterday in West Point, Georgia. Ferguson shared West Point’s success story with the Majority Leader and the important role Kia Motors has played in rebuilding the local economy and creating 14,000 jobs in Georgia. “It was an honor to have the Majority Leader in Georgia’s Third District today,” said Ferguson. “Kia has created thousands of American jobs for American workers, and their story is an important reminder of why we must ensure that the United States continues to be the best place in the world to do business.” “America’s economy is once again the most competitive in the world thanks to the hard work of members like Drew Ferguson. Making this comeback possible is the renaissance in American manufacturing,” said Majority Leader McCarthy. “Today’s tour of Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia highlights how Republican pro-growth policies like tax and regulatory reform are equipping businesses and workers to compete and win in the 21st century. Drew’s leadership on these policies have helped thousands of Georgians secure quality jobs at Kia, while the company’s presence brings $1.1 billion to the local economy. This is the roadmap House Republicans will continue to follow as we close out this Congress and look to the next. And along the way we will continue to lean on Drew’s vision and execution.” "We are proud to host Leader Kevin McCarthy at our home in West Point, Georgia," said Stuart C. Countess, Chief Administrative Officer at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia. "While we have our roots in South Korea, Georgia is our home and we look forward to continuing our history of job growth and investment, as well as workforce development to support our future." ###
