Dear Friends,

I had another great district work period meeting with businesses owners in the Peach State. I started last week by touring the Anheuser-Busch facility in Cartersville, where I learned about the plant's production process and general operation as we discussed some of the challenges facing the business.

First opened in 1993, this brewery employs more than 500 people and has established itself as a leader in the beer industry.

After lunch, I toured the headquarters of Carter's, a major manufacturer of infant clothing across the country. I also had a robust conversation with their representatives about trade issues impacting the business. Thanks for having me!

Congressional Art Competition Deadline This Friday

The deadline for this year’s Congressional Art Competition is this Friday, April 29th at 5:00 p.m. My office is accepting entries from high school students in the Third District. If you are interested in submitting artwork, please visit my website for the rules and regulations.

As a reminder, the first place winner will have their artwork hung in the U.S. Capitol for one year. Additionally, scholarship awards sponsored by and for use at the Art Institute of Atlanta will be presented to the first, second, and third place finishers.

Border Security is National Security

Border security is national security. Unfortunately, this administration has done everything in their power to implement Biden’s radical open-border policies. In the month of March alone, there were over 220,000 illegal border crossings. March’s encounters passed the previous Biden peak set in July and are the highest number in Department of Homeland Security history.

Each and every day, brave Americans are working to do what the Biden Administration will not: secure our border. Tragically, on Friday, Texas National Guard SPC Bishop E. Evans paid the ultimate price attempting to save the life of an individual crossing the border illegally. My heart breaks for his family and loved ones during this terrible time.

It is clear that the Biden Administration is turning a blind eye to the crisis it has created. Instead of securing our southern border and protecting our communities, Biden is actively working to revoke Title 42 – a policy implemented to deter border crossings and ensure illegal immigrants remain in Mexico. It's long past time to end this open-border agenda that will only exacerbate the ongoing border crisis and endanger our communities.
