Congressman Ferguson Announces the 2022 Congressional Art Competition Winner

NEWNAN, GA – U.S. Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) today announced Leah Ross, a senior at Trinity Christian School, as the winner of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition for the Third District. Leah’s artwork, titled “Shattered Emotions,” will be sent to Washington, D.C. and displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. “The talent in the Congressional Art Competition gets better and better each year,” Ferguson said. “It’s truly a testament to how impressive Georgia’s young people are and the impact our incredible art community has on our students. I want to thank all of the wonderful artists who participated in this year’s competition, and a big congratulations to Leah Ross for taking this year’s top prize! The winning piece, ‘Shattered Emotions,’ is a great example of the kind of skill that this contest is designed to highlight. I look forward to seeing her artwork in the halls of the U.S. Capitol as a reminder of the power of the arts to transform lives and strengthen communities.”

The first place winner will receive a $12,000 scholarship, a round-trip visit to Washington, D.C., and have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Second place will receive a $7,500 scholarship and third place will receive a $3,500 scholarship. The scholarships are sponsored by and for use at the Art Institute of Atlanta. The first place People’s Choice winner will have their artwork hung in Congressman Ferguson’s Newnan District Office for one year.
