Washington, DC,
May 12, 2017
Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.), a member of the Education and the Workforce Committee, Tuesday hosted a Labor Roundtable with industry leaders from the LaGrange area. The event was hosted in conjunction with the Georgia Association of Manufacturers and Mountville Mills. The meeting covered a number of issues facing Third District manufacturers including building sustainable workforce development opportunities and building a fairer, more simple tax code. “Third District manufacturers are at the forefront of creating the jobs of the twenty-first century,” said Ferguson. “These leaders are committed to building safe, productive work environments for their employees and investing in their communities and future generations of workers. I am eager to partner with them to continue making the Third District a competitive place to do business.” Roundtable participants included Mountville Mills, KIA, Duracell, Milliken & Company, West Point Industries, Kimberly-Clark and the Georgia Association of Manufacturers. Ferguson will host another labor roundtable and a roundtable on higher education during the district work week. ### |
