Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.) today applauded Claire Goins for her appointment to the United States Naval Academy. Goins, a senior at Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville, accepted the appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

“I commend Claire for her hard work to earn this honor,” said Ferguson. “There is no higher calling than serving our nation in the Armed Forces, and I wish her all the best at the Naval Academy. We are so thankful for all of the brave men and women who choose to defend their nation.”

Goins is a member of the National Honors Society, student council and the cross-country team for Starr’s Mill High School.
